The magnificent six!
Monday, April 7, 2008
The snow may have put a big cold stop to the action on Sunday but it certainly didn´t stop six of our Shoei riders finishing in the top 10 in the qualifiers on Saturday.
Shane Byrne hammered home his determination to regain the Bennetts British Superbike crown as he powered his Airwaves Ducati onto pole start for the opening round at Brands Hatch.
Shane had been the standout rider throughout practice and he continued his dominance into the grid-deciding session, finally overcoming an unsuccessful challenge by Crutchlow.
Tom Sykes proved more succesful than in the free practice, steering through the group to qualify in fifth - unfortunately he missed out on a front row start by a just a tenth of a second.
Joining the Huddersfield rider on the second row, is the fabulous Mr Rutter.
We now look forward to the action at Thruxton on April 20, hopefully the snow will have melted by then and this snow driven Sunday will be but a distant memory as we sit sipping a cold one in the baking sun!
