Shoei Saves Harris from major injury...
Thursday, April 24, 2008
Karl ´Bomber´ Harris and Shoei proved that they're one of the toughest double-acts in the Bennetts British Superbike paddock - after a spectacular crash at Thruxton last weekend.
Despite stopping the full force of Tom Sykes´ stricken Rizla Suzuki with his Shoei helmet, Harris only received minor facial injuries, mainly bruising, and three broken bones in his right foot!
´Bomber´ said "I´ve seen the footage a couple of times and it´s just one of those things really. I don´t remember anything about the crash itself. The last thing I remember is seeing Sykesy crash and thinking ´I better go left as his bike looks like it´s going right´ - but obviously it didn´t! That´s just racing. I feel spot on though, and can´t wait to get to Oulton Park as it´s one of my favourite circuits."
Harris will have his right foot checked again over the next few days but is still expecting to line up on the grid at Oulton Park on 3/4/5 May.
He also wanted to thank the fans for the messages of goodwill that he has been receiving this week.
