These exclusive pictures of James Toseland’s Airoh helmet shows why the British rider was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after his 125mph testing high-side in Sepang.
Toseland destroyed his Tech 3 Yamaha YZR-M1 when he crashed on the opening day of 2009 MotoGP testing in Malaysia last week.
He flew at over 15ft in the air and suffered mild concussion, a tricep injury just above his left elbow and severe bruising on the inside of his left leg.
Toseland told MCN: “It was the biggest crash of my career and there is hardly a mark on me.
"So I’ve got to say a big thanks to Airoh and BKS. My helmet and leathers provided unbelievable protection and I’m really thankful to both of them for that.”
