THE NEW SIDI VORTICE BOOTS ARE READY
FOR SUPERBIKE AND SUPERSPORT RIDERS
February 17th, 2009 - The 2009 Superbike and Supersport World Championships will kick off on Sunday March 1st on the Australian circuit at Philip Island. Racers from the Sidi Sport stables will definitely be the stars of the first races of the season, as well as the entire world circuit. These two categories are some of the most closely watched by motor heads. The Superbike races use serial production models, whilst the Supersport category tests powerful motorcycles ranging from sbk models to MotoGP motorcycles. The two categories always race together; the Supersport race takes place between the 1st and 2nd Superbike races.
In the Supersport race at Philip Island, all eyes will be watching hometown heroes Andrew Pitt and Anthony West, two riders who most represent the Sidi Sport colours. The war machine Andrew Pitt is the current World Champion in the Supersport category, while Anthony West is making a comeback in this category after taking a break and riding for Kawasaki in the 2008 MotoGP. These two Australian daredevils and all other track racers sponsored by Sidi Sport can count on their Sidi Vortice boots. The newest product to emerge from the Sidi workshop, this is an extraordinary boot that combines the best of Sidi’s technology with attractive designing. Vortice has been designed and developed for maximum performance on the track without sacrificing pilot safety.
Sidi has always responded to the requests of its athletes, and we’ve developed a personalised model for each pilot with their team colours and their motorcycle’s number. For example, Pitt will be sporting his inseparable number 88 on his Vortices, with black detailing, green inserts and the rainbow that identifies the World Champion. The official roster of riders for Sidi Sport in the 2009 Superbike season feature the Spaniard Fonsi Nieto and Italian Alessandro Polita. In Supersport you can watch the World Champion from Australia Andrew Pitt, his fellow countryman Anthony West, France’s Fabien Foret, and the Italians Michele Pirro and Fabrizio Lai.
