SUPERSPORT: 

ANTHONY WEST ON THE WINNER’S PODIUM OF VALENCIA

6^th April 2009 - Anthony West gained a great 2^nd place after a hair-raising battle against British rider Crutchlow in the third Supersport race of the season that took place on Sunday, 5^th April on the Spanish circuit of Valencia. 

After an excellent past season in Moto GP the Australian rider has returned to Supersport and is already gaining great results.  Anthony who rides for the Stiggy Racing Honda Team, climbed up onto the winner’s podium with his inseparable Sidi Vortice racing boots.  Once again West proved to be extremely competitive. 

Thanks to this result West, who has 43 points, has gone up to 3^rd place in the world classifications.  This year’s classifications are very close seeing the top five riders ranked with just 9 points between them.  Amongst these five leaders of the classifications are 2 Sidi Sport athletes, Andrew Pitt (actual World Champion of the category) and Anthony West.
