SIDI once again raises the bar in motorcycle boot technology, design and beauty...
Say hello to the range topping SIDI Vortice - featuring more of the same innovative technology that made the SIDI Vertigo so popular, the SIDI Vortice uses similar Tecno adjusters for a precise fit and a similar strap across the foot’s bridge to restrain forward movement and reduce potential crush damage to toes.
There’s also a new shock absorbing heel cup which is capable of moving on its mounts slightly in a crash, further reducing forces to the heel, in addition to the usual assortment of safety features found on high-end motorcycle race boots. The SIDI Vortice is constructed of Lorica and is lined with Teflon vented mesh. The lining in the toe area is in Cambrelle, a soft yet strong lining. Only SIDI goes to the trouble and expense of creating a multiple liner boot system in its racing boots.

The new 2012 motorcycle boot collection. SIDI introduced some new trends, including new appealing colour schemes in fluorescent black/yellow on the road motorcycle models of the SIDI Vortice, SIDI Vortice Air and SIDI ST, as well as the off-road motorcycle models of the SIDI Crossfire and Crossfire SRS. The Tour Gore, Tour Rain, Traffic Rain, Street Rain and Apex boots were introduced for the Touring sector. There was also ample space dedicated to the growing women’s market with the new Livia Rain model and a new, black/white colour scheme for the Vertigo Lei boot.
In addition to all the new items in the 2012 catalogue, the public could also admire and appreciate at the 2011 Milian show some special editions from the SIDI collection, like the gold Crossfire boot which Tony Cairoli wore to the top of the championship podium this year, the “Cairoli replica” version of the Crossfire model used by the very same motocross super champion, and then the black and gold SIDI Vortice commemorative boot to mark the 50th anniversary of SIDI’s history which was worn by all the riders in the MotoGP for the 2010 Qatar GP, and the Vortice “Colin Edwards replica” boot, coloured in the stars and stripes in dedication to the American rider, a veritable collector’s item that was introduced to the Italian market in a special limited edition.
SIDI champions. Plenty of stars from the SIDI Sport stables visited the 2011 Milian show stand, to the delight of all the fans and enthusiasts present who were eager to meet their champions and pose for pictures with them. Without a doubt the most popular was MX1 World Champion Antonio Cairoli, who was inundated with requests for photos and autographs. He threw 500 SIDI commemorative t-shirts into the crowd to mark the occasion and they went like hotcakes. There was also a succession of Moto GP riders on hand at the SIDI stand to meet and greet the fans, including Loris Capirossi (see above image), who has just wrapped up his brilliant career, Alvaro Bautista and the trial ace Adam Raga. And there weren’t just riders...in fact, three-time World Cycling Champion Oscar Freire paid SIDI a visit, as did the Italian women’s road and time trial champion Noemi Cantele, both huge motorcycle and motor buffs who have been spokespersons for the company in the cycling sector for years.
